Engineering is a field where one need to worry about the dangers at work

There is a lot that can go wrong while the things are engineered and one cannot expect the things that will help to change the world without addressing these issues, so it important to care about safety.

All about the safety measures in engineering to try to minimize or eliminate the hazards involved with what you are doing. Few centuries ago mishaps were considered to be out of control or inevitable. As the twentieth century arrived many people began to die every year in United States alone due to industrial accidents, and this raised the serious concerns.

The mankind observed that thousands of people died at the worksite like women and especially the children and men by falling from height, inferno or coal mine explosion etc. The tragic Shirtwaist Company fire incident of 1911 is famous, where one hundred and forty workers died trapped inside a burning factory. The reaction to these events like these led to the modern safety protocols in place today, what engineers call safety culture?

The root of this culture lies in the idea that safety must be prioritized and embraced as whole rather than just thrown in here and there. It is an important mind set to have,     because today engineers work on projects that can have serious permanent consequences – like nuclear power. For example Chernobyl accident of 1986 is a cautionary tale.

Due to a flawed design and inadequately trained staff, one of the reactors in the Soviet Nuclear power plant exploded, releasing massive amount of radioactive material. Two casualties were reported within hours while the other 28 workers were killed due to the exposure to the radiation in the following weeks. Another hundred succumbed to the radiation with acute radiation sickness.

Until the day the area near by the Chernobyl is inhabitable and this all was the consequence of the absence of safety culture. The worker prioritized the quick results over the safety and they ignored the safety protocols and these type of negligence caused emergence to ACTVET approved training institutes.

Whether or not you are working with something dangerous any safety precaution you take will fall under one of two main categories that are occupational safety and public safety.

Why safety training like OSHA training in Dubai is important?

So just think for a moment about a heavy machinery on construction sites, dangerous chemical in lab, or radioactive waste from nuclear power then the public safety is pretty much a catch all for everything else. It can be about dangers you come across at home like a gas leak from your stove or once you experience it while driving like flying debris from a demolition site.
