What is National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health/NEBOSH?

This is a private body which was founded in 1979 in Meridian Business Park, Leicester UK. It provides certification and diploma courses along with the Master Degree as well which is provided by the University of Hull. NEBOSH conducts the independent examination on vocational qualification, health and safety environmental practice and management.

Courses & Activities of NEBOSH

It not only offers the diploma course but also gives awards, certification courses and Masters. The Master Degree is given from the University of Hull to which NEBOSH is affiliated.


NEBOSH has authorized centers in different places in the country and the exams are conducted under the British Safety Council. There are many courses offered by NEBOSH which is from introductory level to the professional level.

NEBOSH IGC 1st Paper

The syllabus of NEBOSH IGC covers the safety elements like policy, organizing, planning,measuring, audit and review.

NEBOSH IGC 2nd Paper

Syllabus in this encompasses workplace hazards and risk control, risk control on transport hazard, risk control on Musculoskeletal hazards, risk control on work equipment hazard, fire safety, electrical safety, Risk control on chemical and biological health hazards, risk control on psychological and physical health hazard.

The third paper of NEBIOSH IGC is practical assessment. The first and second paper is given as the other exams are conducted but when it comes to third paper which is a practical, so in this the applicant has to submit a report.

Minimum Qualification require to take a course from NEBSOH

There is no strict eligibility criteria from the NEBOSH but it can be said that if a person has passed at least high school then it would be good. But to take the course from NEBOSH one should know how to write and read the English language, so the main reason why many students fail the exam because the examiner who checks the copy expects the answer in English.
